“This was a very well planned and a guided tour. I took this day trip from Tirana with my partner. The tour operator informed us about our hotel pickup time well in advance. Elton, our tour guide, was very punctual. Elton is an excellent driver and a guide. He showed us all the lovely stops en route North Macedonia. He stopped at photogenic locations and helped us click some of the best pictures. Elton helped us navigate through the old town and shared brief history of the scenic locations. Overall, it was a very well planned and well executed day trip.”

Despite the lack of confirmation, I showed up early at the stated meeting point on the day of the tour. No guide, driver, or representative ever arrived. With no information, no pickup, and no accountability, I was left stranded and forced to request a refund and scramble to make backup plans so I wouldn’t completely waste a day of my vacation. This time of year the weather is unpredictable but we were lucky, nice blue sky and a little snow in the mountains, which makes Lake Ohrid even more beautiful. The road was smooth, Ohrid itself beautifal and the springs we visited are impressive. We had a great lunch around the lake and enjoyed the return trip to Tirana.
