“A great trip. Antonio guided us throughout the trip and explained very eloquently. We visited Gjirokastra + Bazaar, and Monastery of Ardenica, and a stop at Vjosa River. He also briefed us on history and other noted places we saw along the way. We had also sometime on our own to explore. On his recommendation, I visited Skenduli House and Museum of Ethnography, and tried local cuisine, oshaf (fig dessert) is so good. Weather was great too!”

3-day hiking trek from Tirana: Koman Lake transfer, Valbona Pass to Theth, waterfall stops, and a Blue Eye picnic with guesthouse dinners.

“This was a great hiking tour - the main hike was truly incredible with amazing views and it was great learning more about Albania. The guest houses were comfortable and food delicious and generous portions. The tour ran very smoothly, we had an injury in our group and the guide went above and beyond to make sure they got back safely. Daniel, our guide, was a very interesting and knowledgable man and truly made the tour unique. I would recommend moderate fitness for the tour as main hike is tough, but well worth it, and you are required to carry your bags (so pack light!)”

“We loved this experience! We had been planning on trying to take the bus down to the Riviera for a few days on our own but had seen some horror stories on the reliability of Albanian buses. Then we found this tour! Sold. We booked a private tour and am so glad we went this route! We got a great overview of the area and now I know what I would want to do if we go back to explore more (and would definitely opt for private transport/ taxi down instead of the bus!) Daniel was great. He took us to the Blue Eye (honestly, so touristy I could have…”

“This was an amazing experience! I was traveling on my own and the pace of the day accommodated my interests and comfort. The route to Gjirokaster was spectacularly scenic! After an opportunity to enjoy the fort, we continued to Butrint. In the exploration of these two locations, Albania's rich history was presented by my driver/guide. When I wasn't learning about the sites, I was given the chance to ask about more current history and was offered insight into the experience of Albanians today. We lunched in Saranda and headed back to Tirana along the Albanian Riviera as the sun set. Wonderful locations and conversations.”

“Our tour guide Skerdi was excellent. Not only vey knowledgeable of Albanian history, but Skerdi gave us a personal insight into Albania today through sharing many perspectives from a younger generation. Skerdi personalized our trip back along the Riviera coast since he grew up there. A lover of Albanian polyphonic folk singing, we ended up driving back to Tirana singing along with a recording of his neighborhood choir. He was fun, genuine and gave us a feel for authentic Albania. Also, Skerdi was an excellent driver which we appreciated.”

“Disappointing Both the driver and guide were kind but completely unprofessional. It was as if I was on their tour. The driver was unreachable and we waited on the side of the road for 20 minutes in the heat. They spoke loudly the entire time. We stopped to say hello to a friend of the guide. The guide spent the whole time taking pictures and said we would stay at the beach because he wanted to swim. The driving was precarious. I was not told about the hike to the beach and it was dangerous to not have proper shoes. The guide really tried but just lacks the experience and…”
